882811 2010-05-06 11:26:00 My dear old Mum is 89 yrs old I always park in disability car parks so that she has a short walk to where-ever she needs to go, some times I drop her off first even closer to desired destination then park in a fore-said parking, so far no-one has queried me. zqwerty (97)
882812 2010-05-06 11:44:00 Your daughter should learn to walk.

You are not a POM are you?

882813 2010-05-06 20:38:00 Is it just me or is it about 90% of the people complaining on TV about stuff have pommy accents? and another 5% have other foreign accents. Next time you watch TV take a note of the accent.
Makes my blood boil listening to the constant cacophony of pommy accents on tv and that includes pommy reporters. If you wanted to torture me tie me up and put on Coronation Street I would do anything and I mean anything for you to stop this cruel torture.
When I lived in Aussie there were heaps of englanders there but they kept quiet otherwise the ozzies hit them well they did in NT. They even had a motto punch a pom a day.

It would take a very hard hearted person for them not to be understanding of your parking situation; but is it possible for your dear old Mum to get a disabled parking card?
It's been a few years since our daughter needed one, (thanks to a drunken driver), but it enabled whichever car carrying her to be able to use the disability parking space.

882816 2010-05-06 23:31:00 Lets see, there is a big issue in NZ with abuse of disabled car parks & parking on yellow lines THAT WERE PUT THERE FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS.

You seem to be beyond the law & can park/stop where ever you want.
What about the (say) 5 cars behind you, why not let them in the disabled
parks as well.

lazy lazy lazy lazy lazy.
Park legally, get out & walk your with child the rest of the way.
The parking wardens have to hide in the bushes & jump out, just to try & keep these disabled car parks clear.
Dont complain simply because you were caught.

zqwerty is different altogether, a real need to use the parking. You could probhably apply for a disabled parking sticker ??

882817 2010-05-07 00:16:00 What do you reckon about this: I have to let my daughter out at school.

When my son went to primary he walked. I walked him the first few times, then he went with some older neighbour kids.

When he went to Intermediate he biked.

Then high school he either walked or got the bus.

You parents who think their kids have no legs drive me nuts. You're responsible for these traffic stuffups and you should be fined $10000

I so agree with this post
During school hols in Auckers its as if the motorways are deserted.
A big problem is stupid parents taking their kids across town to schools when there is a school within walking distance.
One of my kids bikes to Primary school other one takes bus to high school(not mine).
When I was primary school I walked/biked from the intersection of the Mot West bank /Graham Valley road alway up to the end of Graham Valley. Sometimes if it was pissing down Mum would drop me down in the 100E other times I wore a rain coat.

Ah, when I were a lad we always walked to school, rain hail or shine. Primary was close, just 15 minutes for short legs, Intermediate was twice as far so a good 30 minutes until I got a bike and rode for the second year. College was 15 minutes by bike but 10 minutes over the back fence shank's pony.

I never once went to school by car, and my kids walked to school every day from primary to college, rain or no rain, but in major downpours we went all soft on them and gave them a ride. Luxury!

Parent behaviour outside schools is atrocious, especially the 'might is right' brigade in their monstrous FWDs, so I have no sympathy for those who park illegally. If little Tarquin or Emma-Louise can't walk 100metres unaided then theres no hope for them.

And Zqwerty, you have no dispensation, even if your poor old mum is legless and you are carrying her on your back, no permit means a fine, no matter how justified you feel.

As for those with permits displayed that jump out of the car and run across the road to the TAB or bottle store!!! Don't get me started!

Cheers
