| 882489 | 2010-05-06 02:05:00 | ok different tack............. who out there is buying or selling there house? It's a crap time. Unless you're buying. In which case it's a great time. So long as you have a big deposit cause the banks are meaner now. If you need any advice, just ask, we are well practiced in selling at the wrong time - we could start one of those TV real estate programs: How To Buy and Sell and Not Make Any Money. Or How to Sell At A Loss. Or Buying At The Peak and Selling At the Worst Time. |

Its a bad time to buy if you plan to sell in the short term for a profit (do up a house and get out etc). The economy is on the up but we will probably not see another housing boom or slump any time soon "thankfully". If your job is secure and you can sustain a mortgage rate increase of maybe 2% over the next year then I cant see why not. |

Perhaps the reason for the cheery disposition is that she is an avid reader of Ambrose Bierce, in his book "The Devil's Dictionary," where he gave the definition, "To be positive: to be mistaken at the top of one's voice.":) |

| 882497 | 2010-05-07 02:25:00 | ok the idea is to sell what i have and move to a different suburb, with a slightly smaller section and if need be a smaller house.......... i only have a half morgage of what the GV on the house is so.......... unless i do something drastically wrong i should break even.............. i dont expect a profit. but i would be happy just to move. i love my house, it has the size and space and everything i want but i hate the suburb.......... i thought i would get used to it, but nuh its not happening........... and yes i have a job, im a early childhood teacher, and if i wanted to i could get more hours or a different job for more pay. but i like where i work. im willing to make sacrifices to go to a better place. i have been in the house 2 1/2 years and currently paying more than the morgage dictates, so im a win i guess? if the house sold, i would be in the same market to buy, beetle. |
