| 1153270 | 2010-11-16 01:45:00 | Until recently when I opened a photo in Windows Photo Viewer, it had a plain black background. Now it has a dirty yellow/cream background which appears to "bleed" into light areas of the photo. I have been into Personalise > Display Settings, etc. and fixed the dirty yellow problem, but that still leaves me with white! I'm darned if I can find how to restore my original black background. | 1153272 | 2010-11-16 05:06:00 | Hi Orbe, This seems like a strange issue indeed, I am running Windows 7 and when I open Windows Photo Viewer I don't find any options at all to change any background colour settings at all. Have you tried viewing the images with a different photo viewer such as Microsoft Office Picture Manager or Paint. If you get the same issue with these viewers I would think that there is an issue with your monitor or monitor device driver. I would first suggest updating your device driver for your monitor. Here is a link to a page which explains how to update your drivers support.visioneer.com If that does not fix it, you may have to get another monitor. If you don't get any issues viewing with these other viewers, simply use these viewers from now on. The way to use them is right click on the image and choose "Open with" and choose an alternative viewer, there is also a check box that you can tick so you can use this alternative program to open that file type by default from now on. I hope this helps in some way :) |

| 1153274 | 2010-11-16 06:53:00 | If that does not fix it, you may have to get another monitor. :) LOL, that's a bit drastic, the OS or program is displaying the wrong colour, not the monitor (the colourcast would be over the whole screen if the monitor was faulty). |
