2010-11-13 19:58:00 | I had an interesting problem with my internet yesterday. Was just surfing the net and then got the message that the website I was trying to browse to was unreachable thought that was fine so went to google, same thing. Refreshed PF1 and it happened again. First thought was that it was my browser so tried another one, same thing. Thought this was strange because I could ping and traceroute websites and irc was still connected. So restarted laptop and problem was fixed (or so I thought) Same thing happened 4 more times. And when I tried my G4 at the same time that this was happening to my hp it could not access the net either. Restarted the hp laptop, the apple could then browse. Any ideas what is driving me up the wall?

2010-11-13 23:14:00 | but why would restarting the hp fix it? | nedkelly (9059) | |
2010-11-13 23:30:00 | Could be an ip conflict maybe? Since both work when you reboot both Post a HJT log from the windows PC, we'll see whats in it

2010-11-14 00:13:00 | 10.0.0.1 is the netgear router 192.168.1.1 is the modem
nedkelly (9059) | ||
2010-11-14 00:20:00 | Probably a lack of communication between the modem or router then Since youre using a separate modem and router

2010-11-14 00:57:00 | ok then why would rebooting the laptop fix it? | nedkelly (9059) | |
2010-11-14 01:06:00 | Well first how is the laptop connected?? With wireless or ethernet?? I would either look in the router's/modem's logs, (look for the times it cuts you off), or look in event viewer. It sounds like something hasnt been configured properly
