1152371 2010-11-12 22:23:00 I have a limited budget and am looking at replacing the speakers I was given ages ago (ty Metla :))
Budget is less than $100 (actually being gifted them for work done) so I have a choice between Logitech, or Microlab

All I require is 2.1 for music (mainly mp3). Not looking for high quality obviously.

Anyone have any recommendations on the above brands?

The only real requirement: I do like a bit of volume

Thus far; kind of liking the look of these:

1152372 2010-11-12 23:13:00 My friend has some older Logitech 2.1 speakers & they have both good sound quality and good volume. I know a few people with various Logitech speakers & they all love them, so I would recommend going with logitech. Greven (91)

The advantage being they are available locally and you can ask them for a demo.

Personally I don't rate the audio quality of Logitech very highly, Those speakers I gave you sounded better to my ear when new then the logitech speakers I'm currently running.

Having said that, I do have to remind myself they are all just PC speakers and none of them are going to give stunning results, not helped by the crap quality audio files everyone loves.

1152374 2010-11-13 01:28:00 I have a LOGITECH Z523 Speaker System hooked up to our PVR and found it excellent value for money. Bass is pretty loud, so I usually have it wound back pretty much and the twin speakers sound good too. My wife agrees and her hearing is a lot better than mine. They seem to come up pretty regularly on special at various outlets for $100 PPp (9511)

Amazing what you can get today, not?

I've got the smaller variant of that, a logitech X230. Bought it a few years ago, cost about $130, but it's all good for my usage.

1152376 2010-11-13 09:50:00 I've got the X230.

Its an alright setup, though in no way does it come anywhere close (by about a trillion miles) to what the reviews claim, Both the professional and user reviews are all so far out of whack as to be meaningless dribble.
