With a new install recently the Ask tool bar managed to slip through even though I always do a custom install. Don't kid yourself that it is free. We all pay for it when we get Windows or Office. True we do pay for it; MS should have included a (free) anti virus long ago, and maybe MSE is effective, because MS has the upper hand, with their security updates, and malicious tools, registry settings, system systems, etc. Meaning that MSE was going to be effective/favorable as it possibly easily compliments the MS system (which they know best I guess) compared to other anti-virus software developers. |
