883750 2010-05-11 03:17:00 Unfortunately Ngapuhi (Tai Tokerau District) have nothing compared to the other 6 Maori Iwi/districts as referenced by the Maori Land Court. No major land trusts, no resources (lakes, forests, rivers, coastal sea, dairy stations, prominent academic trustees). Many maori I know have plenty of land/forestry shares and healthy dividends, benefactors to major land trusts, educational grants, health grants, etc, largely due to their fortuitous and profitable tribal regions, generally in heartland areas of NZ. The 1840 was the second treaty, for all the maoris in NZ but 5 years previously the Northland maoris had signed up to an agreement.Where is the documented evidence for this please?

Thanks for that.

Later, of course, there were the Maori wars, Wakefield and etc.

There is never going to be a full and final settlement of all claims ever.
