883619 2010-05-11 03:10:00 Back when I was a kid we had a go-kart with a T500 engine in her, which was I believe a 500cc twin 2-stoke engine from a road bike.

She went like a mother ****er.

All the neighbourhood kids were banned from going near it by their mums and it was instrumental in many many hospital visits.

If you were dumb enough to get her into second and give her a bootfull she would flip over forwards......

No roll cage on that baby, You ate dirt and the kart smashed you into the ground.

883620 2010-05-11 03:16:00 I bet it flipped easily with all that engine power? Ice Road Trucker (15659)
883621 2010-05-11 03:18:00 And you dusted yourself off, had a good laugh then did it again?

Unlike today where parents would be jailed for child neglect, OSH would poke their pointy noses into the matter, the cart would be melted down as satanic material, legislation would be passed banning carts in NZ... etc...

Don't say that, they just might do it yet.

Meh, It was probably one of the stupidest things you could leave in the hands of unsupervised kids.

Or maybe we just continually took it without permission.

Either way we once again proved beyond doubt that we weren't to be trusted and it disappeared.

It was very poorly built, The geometry was all wrong and it had no suspension.

As you got up to speed (which took about 4 seconds) the back end would start bouncing side to side, loading and unloading the engine, then all hell fire would break loose and she would barrel-roll forwards.....
