| 1152649 | 2010-11-14 04:41:00 | I saw a game in the Warehouse for $30 . 00 Medal of Honour . Looked at the back and it said compatible with Vista so I bought it . Tried and failed to install on Win7 . Took it back . At first they were not at all helpful . Just about told me to p*** off . No return policy, go away! Nowhere did it say on their promotional material it would not run on Win7 . My argument was that as it was compatible with Vista it would be reasonable for an ordinary non-expert customer to expect it to run on Win7 . The security guy was having none of it . I quoted the Sale of Goods Act and any thing else I could think of . The sales clerk over ruled the security guy and said he had the same problem and gave me my dosh . The security gut was still spluttering when I left . Buyer beware . |

| 1152651 | 2010-11-14 04:53:00 | and they wonder why people resort to piracy. if a product claims to work perfectly with NT6.0 you should be able to expect it to run perfectly on NT6.1 did you try patching it once it was installed? |

| 1152652 | 2010-11-14 04:55:00 | I would have expected it to run on windows 7, even if it didn't the protection drivers (probably what caused it not to work) should have had updates for 7 Ah well, such is life, at least you got your money back. |

The point I am making is if I go into a shop to buy something advertised for sale and it does not mention or warn me that it is obsolete and will not run on new software I have a good case. I have a right to expect better. You get the service from retailers that you are prepared to put up with. Besides you need a magnifying glass to read the small print. |

It wasn't obsolete because it would run on Vista as it said. I had a problem similar to yours when I bought Quick Books from the Warehouse Stationary. Quick Books worked but the registration wouldn't and Quick Books were very unhelpful because it was a couple of versions old. My gripe was with Quick Books not the Warehouse Stationary. It makes me think of people going to an auction that end up buying stuff and don't know the value etc. Their decision, their fault. |

| 1152655 | 2010-11-14 05:25:00 | If it does not specifically state it will work under Win 7 you have no right to expect it to. | Snorkbox (15764) | ||

Nowhere did it say on their promotional material it would not run on Win7And you also should have the brains to look up and see if it will run on windows 7 before trotting off to purchase it - I just did, it took all of 10 seconds to figure out the older version has problems with windows 7. The new version is meant to work fine. Medal of Honor requires at the following minimum configuration: Operating System - Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 Its hardly the shops fault a person cant figure out its older software -- you looked at the spec's and it didn't say windows 7 compatible -- so why didn't you simply ask. As for the return policy -- thats standard with many places - these days its all so easy to make a copy of the Game, then return it saying its faulty, or wont run on your system and the person then has a free game since they were dishonest and copied it. As for the small print -- buy some glasses. |

| 1152658 | 2010-11-14 08:37:00 | I bought stalker: clear sky (not at the warehouse) that was vista worthy but it crashed on win 7 because of the DRM protection. I sorted it by patching it after installation. Works fine now. Also, I like the warehouse sometimes because they have better prices than EB games on many games. Other times they're just as ****. For their returns though, they're often pretty good. I've had 3 transonic flash drives conk out on me. Each time I returned it they gave me a new one no sweat, and even the 3rd time I went back they had no qualms about giving me a full refund of the sticker price. (I bought it while it was on special.) I think the main thing is though, don't ask a bloody security guard or any member of staff on security detail to do anything. Especially not returns. You have to get a proper member of staff to do it. If someone's on security detail they're probably just too useless to be doing anything else. And since they're at the warehouse, that's really saying something. |
