| 1457027 | 2018-12-31 01:11:00 | I'm often surprised at the many house I visit that have their television on but nobody is watching it - it's just a lot of noise in the background. I can't understand why.:waughh: If nobody is watching it, why have it on? It's just a waste of power. |

| 1457029 | 2018-12-31 02:45:00 | We always did that. Husband liked news, he'd watch news all day if he could, plus some car channel and History Channel, but he'd wander off to mess about in the garage and such and leave it on. And of course, if a visitor turned up, he'd go chat, but leave the TV. He doesn't shut doors, cupboards or turn lights off or whatever either.......so turn TV off? LOL.... |

| 1457031 | 2018-12-31 05:51:00 | No, but I don't see why men should. Do we women put the seat up after we use it?? There were 2 men and 1 woman at last place, guess that meant it should be up by default. here's an even split, 2 of each. Who cares, so long as it's clean.... |

| 1457032 | 2018-12-31 18:59:00 | Putting the lid down, (note lid not just the seat) stops water spraying out of the toilet which it does do when flushed and it stops the cat. | gary67 (56) | ||
| 1457033 | 2018-12-31 19:12:00 | Stops the cat? Stops it what? My cats are not interested in the loo. Yes I know the lid down idea about spraying germs round the room. However I don't really care if it's left up or down. Not something that bothers me. Weren't we talking about TVs being on? |

We have a cat only one of the two who likes to drink from the toilet bowl, hence keeping the lid down. TV who has one, everything is on the net these days. |

Personally I grew up in a household with 4 sisters and putting the seat down is so ingrained I still do it automatically despite currently living alone, but leaving it up is just as valid a choice in my book. Up or down 50% of the population (roughly) needs to move it at least some of the time. |
