| 1455001 | 2018-10-28 21:30:00 | Hi Guys and Gals, I have been checking and clicking for windows updates in the attempt to receive 1809 upgrade for my HP Elitebook laptop. So far no joy in receiving this update I've come here wondering why this may be. My apologies if this has been covered in other posts. I have been aware of the problems with the earlier release of this update but I thought it was all good now,[well sort of]. Have I perhaps missed something? with thanks, John |

Same here on our 3 HP laptops and 1 Gigabyte laptop too. No data loss, no probs with zip files, no crashes or BSODs or any of the other reported issues. The only thing I've noticed is for the two machines with Windows Defender as the realtime AV, is the definition updates are being time and date stamped 13hrs ahead of NZ time. No problems with the CU that came out a few weeks later either. Guess we were lucky. |

A bit like saying : I drive drunk, never crashed & never been caught :) Plenty have had serious issues. Not everyone, but plenty of people. 1809 was so bad MS withdrew it within a few days . MS fired most of the testing staff for updates. What they are doing is using the public(insiders) to test updates for them . And again & again , bugs reported by insiders arnt being fixed before the updates are released So its now a crap shoot as to what issues windows updates will have. |
