| 1457687 | 2019-02-01 21:58:00 | SO - Just by having a blocker-plate adapter on your herba decapitation device, in and of itself, does not a mulcher make. . the point i was making before is that most mowers sold are mulching mowers. the manufacture only makes one mower type then simply adds a blocker to the ones they sell as mulchers. some people make their own blocking plug. and they do need to lift or throw the grass. if it doesn't the cut grass just lands back on the ground and lays flat under the blades. it has to be constantly thrown up for it to be able to be cut multiple times. |

I have tried all sorts of other designs and my customers like this set up . Of course, John Deere makes a special insert that lives above the blade zone to keep the grass in suspension not needing the lift of the blades at all . The plug is OK - but not the real deal . But for sure, leaving mulch in the lawn is a very good idea - as it holds water and keeps the weeds down . |

| 1457690 | 2019-02-02 03:24:00 | OK.... decks vs pushers. I had a customer with a worn out deflector over the blades - a triple set, and it was leaving big globs of grass clumps all over the place. Once I replaced it, it worked perfectly. John Deere seems to know something that I don't really gather yet. I've got one more to do this next week if the weather holds nice for a bit. Youse guys gong into Fall now? |

| 1457691 | 2019-02-02 05:39:00 | We are in mid-summer now Joe, February is usually our most stable good weather month which can last through March and most of April some years here in Christchurch. We have just had a week of stinking hot weather and expecting a lot more with just a few mild days in between, very little rain. |
