1487587 2022-07-27 02:24:00 hi
Any advice re a plan for elderly user. Maybe a few texts per month, a few short calls and no data required ( wifi in house).
Currently on a $20 prepaid ( Spark) which offers way more than is necessary.
I see a 2degrees $10 plan. Any comments on this ?

thanks

1487588 2022-07-27 02:40:00 I have been on 2degrees $10 plan for a long time now and suits me very well

100 Carryover Mins to NZ & Aussie, Unlimited* Texts to NZ & Aussie and 250mg of carryover data.

What more could an elderly user want

1487593 2022-07-27 19:53:00 I have my phone on prepaid with Vodaphone. It is a very basic phone. I can only do texts and calls and I only pay for texts and calls so if I do not use my phone it does not cost me anything. I am in my 70s and have no need for piles of data. Any time I need to download anything I use my laptop. I don't use my phone a lot so it costs me very little. If like me, that is all you need to do, then I would recommend prepaid. Roscoe (6288)
1487594 2022-07-27 21:29:00 I had to have one according to my daughter a few years ago . For emergencies when I am out walking . Been a good thing a few times ! I only have a Skinny $9 plan and SWMBO has the same . We are going to get rid of our landline later this year so will up her plan as she waffles on a bit on the phone!

So saying, I use my phone a lot . I am the sort of bloke who needs to know things so what could be better than a pocket information centre . Music, which I love is ripped from my CD's and put on my phone . It means I always have a camera on me for my other love of my life, photography!

Just bought myself a Samsung S22 this week and I marvel at the improvement on my 6 yr old Sony that it is replacing . I have always had the thought that phones were useless for photography but this one is pretty darned good . Don't have to carry my DSLR around unless I have a specific reason . Can also photograph using RAW and has an editor for handling that . 4K video, another good point .

Just my thoughts :)

Ken. I use Skinny $16 plan but their $9 plan has no rollover items they expire at the end of 28 days where as 2D doesn't

1487596 2022-07-28 05:25:00 Spark Gold Basic plan. (for aged 65 and older). $15 Rollover plan per month. 100 NZ texts, 100MB NZ Rollover data. Voice - Unlimited mins to Spark Mobiles and NZ Landlines + 100 mins to other networks.

Thanks for that. It is just what my parents need. I was unaware of that plan.

Edit: Just scrolled to the top of that page and it says plans are no longer available. Damn shame.
