2022-07-13 06:36:00 | Have tried to be as careful as I can phrasing this as I dont want it to seem that I am going to use anyone elses pics at all. At my age, 78 very shortly, and with a very successful retirement of my competition photos, I am very keen indeed to have a calendar to give to my friends of some of the best of my pics (not necessarily the winners). Just been looking online and there are a big variety of options. As this is a first attempt (hopefully not last?) then I am keen to give quality. With that in mind, what suggestions of companies (online) do you have please?? | Misty (368) | |

But then you have to different paper /Card and bind etc. As you mentioned there's plenty to select from. If you want a professional place, we got a photobook created from our own pictures once , the quality was excellent and very professionally done. from snapfish Looking at the site they do calendars as well. www.snapfish.co.nz |

2022-07-13 06:55:00 | I’ve use snapfish before. Their site is good, and I thought relatively easy to deal with. But their printing i find overly dark and over saturated. Harvey Normans print better, not as cheap and not as easy to use. But it was a while since I used their app, as it may have been adobe flash at the time. I’ve not done calendars, but books, which I’d imagine is more complex from a user interface perspective.

2022-07-13 11:13:00 | I get a calendar printed every year from our own pics with https://www . photobookshop . co . nz being the one I've used for the past four or five years . They are based in Aussie and if you subscribe to their emails you get sent their latest offers which are, like Briscoes, etc, far cheaper than their "normal" prices . You buy a voucher for the product you want and have six months to redeem it . I haven't checked to see if Bryan's suggestion is the NZ version of the same company . To create the calendars (and their other products) you download their software onto your PC and work on your project on your own PC then upload when done . The vouchers include postage and it took around three weeks to receive my calendar last year when covid was all the rage . What I like about Photobookshop's software is that you can choose to auto-enhance each picture which is excellent at ensuring my printed pictures aren't too dark as they have been with other printers . I'm not a good photographer as you appear to be so this feature has saved me from disappointing results . The quality of the paper is a bit lighter than other printers but is otherwise good . Other printers I've used are Diamond Photos, Kroma (these two seem to use the same printing machines, etc) and Snapfish . I can't remember what the latter was like but Diamond Photos and Kroma used to be web based, ie you upload your pics and create your project on their website rather than on your own PC . It has been a few years since I used these so things may have changed . The quality of the paper last time I used them was a lot heavier than Photobookshop, almost like cardboard, but they didn't have a glossy finish, which I quite like . As I said, my pics usually came out quite dark which was disappointing, hence why I now use Photobookshop . Again, things may have changed . They also had "specials" available via Treat Me and Grab One . All of the printing companies offer design templates but I always choose my own layout as I like minimalistic designs . I would suggest you check out the above sites and have a play with the software to see if you favour one over the others . Definitely subscribe to their emails to get the discount offers and depending on whether you have time you might like to order one calendar initially to see if it meets your expected quality standards . Hope that helps .

2022-07-14 05:08:00 | Many thanks for all the suggestions, folks, there are so many that it will take me a while to look into them all :) Other people I know, photographers, have also suggested Canva and Saal. | Misty (368) | |
2022-07-14 06:13:00 | I use Publisher (part of Microsoft 365) - and have been using it for 20 odd years now. I do the whole thing, and only take it to the commercial printers to have the binding put on. Every time i suggest to my family that i stop, I'm not allowed! It is a review of my photography each year - not family pics. It takes for ages to put together... | R.M. (561) | |
