Stolen from the Pagan Easter - Honkie religion. Stolen from the Pagan Spring fertility festival You see the Christians who are supposedly peaceful so long as you follow their particular variation of the fairy story have been stealing from other cultures and religions since the day they realised there was money to be made out of misery. Couldnt agree more |

Just because you have no time for church going does not mean that there isn't anything to it. Ah, the majority is right? The majority beleived in assorted gods who controlled the weather and other events, and did awful things to the humans, not vaguely, directly. Once the majority knew the world was flat. Once they knew the sun revolved round earth and earth was the centre of the universe. Once the majority believed in Phlogiston. Germs didn't exist. And so on. Believing something just because a bunch of other people say so? Right. |

I may be old fashioned, but I detest the fact that most retail stores are open on Stat Hols except Good Friday and Christmas Day. If Matariki is special then why do retail stores e.g., Warehouse Stationery , the malls etc. think they need to be open. I'm sure we could cope for 1 day with their closure and allow their staff to enjoy the holiday too. |
