| 1487600 | 2022-07-27 05:15:00 | I received a FB message purportedly from my cousin saying that she had information as to how I could receive a payment of $100000 if I contacted this fellow supposedly from the UN . When I investigated the claim it said that to receive the payment I would have to deposit $2400 in an American bank account . SWMBO, who used to work for Westpac said that she recognised it as a scam . I sent an email to the Westpac fraud department so they could keep an eye out for it, but I thought that I should contact FB as well to advise them to keep a lookout for this scammer and to block him . What I would like to know is how to contact FB . Thanks for your assistance . :thanks |

| 1487602 | 2022-07-27 06:17:00 | Please tell me that you honestly didn't think the message was for real :( When I saw the message purportedly from my cousin I did wonder, so I gave her a call to check that it was not her message. I was suspicious. But then I had heard about that sort of scam before so I was cautious. Also, who is going to offer you that sort of money for practically nothing? It was too good to be true. Then I accessed my cousin's FB messages by clicking on her name and there was no such message, so it obviously was not from her. I last heard from her some months ago. But you have not told me what I wanted to know. How do I contact FB to inform them of the scam? |

| 1487605 | 2022-07-27 06:43:00 | Don't really know if its worth Contacting FB. They often don't do a thing about it, and even if they do the scammers simply creates a new ID and starts all over again. Seen it countless times people report and nothing is done. Their Community Standards is a damn joke. People get innocent and polite, nothing wrong with them posts removed and in FB Jail for a stint, where as Scammers are not touched. |

When I investigated the claim it said that to receive the payment I would have to deposit $2400 in an American bank account . SWMBO, who used to work for Westpac said that she recognised it as a scam . It's obvious!! Even without the deposit $2400 bit . Telling Westpac or FB is pointless . Westpac would see this sort of thing day in and day out . |

I agree, telling FB is pointless, but Westpac have a fraud department so I sent them an email with the details of his bank account. If any of their customers attempt to make a payment to that account the Westpac fraud department will be alerted and the payment should be stopped. |
