| 1154493 | 2010-11-19 03:12:00 | Got an old presario here, as soon as i switch it on at the wall, the psu fan starts and the led on the front lights up, but thats it. no cpu fan, not sure if the hdd is spinning up or not... cant turn it off, even if i hold the power button for 10 secs or so. checked all the cables, including the front power button cables etc. Tried removing the pci 56k modem, and one of the ram sticks, leaving a 256mb in there (133mhz) | jareemon (5207) | ||

| 1154495 | 2010-11-19 03:15:00 | Let it run for a minute and felt the cpu heatsink, and it's hot... so the cpu is working but the fan isnt. | jareemon (5207) | ||

| 1154497 | 2010-11-19 03:18:00 | I would try another PSU / remove the CPU clean the heatsink. Then put some more paste on it. And clean the case out if its full of dust | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 1154498 | 2010-11-19 03:23:00 | It's a weird shaped little psu, it's in a micro atx case... i dont have another one lying around. I'm pretty sure it is the psu though. Found a huge dead bug in there too. |
