1154243 2010-11-18 12:16:00 There is probably going to be a problem with the calendar anyway now I think about it some more. If you used system restore back to 6/11 then when you did the backup using FBack on the 16/11 then the file you backed up was already corrupt I guess.

Do you have earlier restore points?

1154244 2010-11-18 12:18:00 I know how to restore the file now but I don't think it will help. Snorkbox (15764)
1154245 2010-11-18 12:18:00 yes I do but it is so important I don't lose any documents after the restore point dianne pierce (13385)
1154246 2010-11-18 12:21:00 Incidentally which file did you download? What size is it? Snorkbox (15764)
1154247 2010-11-18 12:22:00 A restore point does not change your documents. Snorkbox (15764)
1154248 2010-11-18 12:24:00 File size should have been 219,006 Snorkbox (15764)
1154249 2010-11-18 12:27:00 works8.exe file size 213mb from the link you gave me dianne pierce (13385)
1154250 2010-11-18 12:34:00 Looks like you have the correct file. Did it actually install or did it error out? Snorkbox (15764)
1154251 2010-11-18 12:44:00 Downloaded and saved and then when I tried to install it I got this message "a works upgrade is already installed on this machine" dianne pierce (13385)
1154252 2010-11-18 12:49:00 OK. So go uninstall Works 8 in add/remove programs then. This will not remove the .wcd file on your desktop OR the copy in Works itself. Make another copy of the .wcd file anyway elsewhere.

Then run the installation file again.
