885231 2010-05-25 23:52:00 It's the nature of digital broadcasts, they take longer to change channel than analogue, that goes for anything not just the Tivo Agent_24 (57)
885232 2010-05-25 23:58:00 Don't know why, don't think there is a method to speed it up, however I find that changing channels using the EPG navigator quicker than the channel up/down or numeric keypad method...

Log a query/complaint with TiVo Support and maybe they could look at that with the next software release...

Intriguing this... I have 3 (2 UHF and 1 Satellite) tuners in our house and did some real hitech testing to establish the channel changing times on them (one higeldy pigeldy, 2 higeldy pigeldy...etc.)

Tivo 4 seconds
Zinwell 4 seconds
And the satellite one...
Hills 4 seconds

Using the guide takes longer as you have lots of key presses to change channel

885233 2010-05-26 00:02:00 Typical manufacturers we live in a fast paced world but changing channels is so slow what a weird concept we put up with. Hitech (9024)
885234 2010-05-26 00:06:00 Quite simple, if you want quick channel changing go back to analogue.

Digital is going to really piss me off in this respect....

885235 2010-05-26 00:25:00 no point going back to anal logue it wont be on air much longer when 2012 comes around so we have to put up with slow channel switching in a fast paced world lol Hitech (9024)
885236 2010-05-26 00:31:00 I never left, and I ain't leaving until I have to. I'll savour my quick channel changing as long as possible.

DVB-T might be high-definition but I prefer something that doesn't turn into a pile of green blocks just because it's raining or whatever.

885237 2010-05-26 05:09:00 im sticking with analogue. we have sky in the lounge but the quality of sky is terrible. i can get better quality videos off my old windows 95 cd. the analogue reception in my room is perfect so i have no need to change, and i only really ever watch Prime. Prime has all the good stuff. prime show newer episodes of mythbusters than discovery channel goodiesguy (15316)

Sky isn't in HD , unless you pay more, which is a rort. However digital freeview is HD, as long as it is via UHF, and you notice a HUGE difference in quality.

I've never had that issue, maybe you need a better aerial?

The slow channel switching annoyed me when I first got Tivo (I'm sure they could speed it up with faster hardware) but I came to the realisation a few months back that I hardly ever watch live TV so it isn't that much of an issue for me. I time shift the news when I get home and pretty much record everything else.
