2010-11-21 23:40:00 | Getting fed up now . . . this thing happens almost daily . Sometimes if you give it 10mins it pop up, others it cannot . They don't upgrade them, dunno why eh . . it's like each print job takes over an hour . Or sometimes if you type in \\computername and hit enter . The 2x Windows 7 computers can see each other . But now it is W7 and Win2k . They each can get on the internet and see itself .

2010-11-22 00:09:00 | Same workgroup "HOME". Diff computer name for each. It can see itself but not each other. Thing is sometimes works, others doesn't. Half the time if you type in \\computername it access it .. but that PC is still not visible. Other times one might be able to access the other by typing \\ ... but not the other way round. Or likewise, one might be able to see it ... but not the other way round. Recently when it worked, been printing blind - that is PC is not visible. But I double click on shared printer - enter login and password and then just print from MS Word. Just as much time it just doesn't work.... can get online tho onto the internet etc....

2010-11-30 01:33:00 | Just a wee issue. The Win2k PC now can see everyone  but One or both of the Win7 cannot see the Win2k. But if you type in \\computername - that works. Advice? Also, the Win2k has a attached shared printer. On the Win7 PC. Once I typed in \\computername and login with the username and password, I right click the printer and click "connect" it fails. But if I use the (attached) Win2k thru Network Neighbourhood and right click and click "connect" then my Win7 PC can print. A bit of jumping between 2 PCs just to print a document. Apprec.

2010-11-30 02:16:00 | What router are you using?, can you reserve the IP addresses then add them to host file? Guest account enabled on W2k, been awhile since I have touched 2000! Is network discovery running on 7 pc's.....I believe their are some files which would allow the 2k and 7 pc's to see each other better, however as 2k no longer supported it didnt get the files that XP did which is why they see each other better!

2010-11-30 03:52:00 | Give them static ips, instead of leaving them on auto. Theyre probably changing everytime you shut down / boot up | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
