| 1155068 | 2010-11-21 17:05:00 | My trusty old desktop will not boot. :waughh: BIOS indicates that both HD's are not detected (CD and DVD drives are detected). I checked for loose connectors and wiggled the HD plugs, but it still will not boot. WinXP, 3G P4 ASUS mobo, Corsair ps (about 2 yrs old) Can I check something else or is the mobo :badpc: stuffed? |

If you are able, (correct connections) attach the HDD to where the optical drive is (leave the optical drives off) see if the HDD is detected. If it is then the problem could be on the board, if not then maybe the PSU is not powering up the drives, or the HDD is dead. |
