I guess you missed the goings on when the PS2 and Xbox were going hell bent for leather, with the mass closure of PC developers, gaming devs switching platforms just to survive and MS buying up everyone they could while shutting down their own PC game development and discontinuing all PC gaming devices . I would hope PC game sales have since risen,The number of PC's in homes has increased massively, Its just an indication of the decline that the market share of the PC in regards to gaming has not recovered . How many burgers with maggots in them would you put up with before you switched to fried chicken? I doubt anyone can exaggerate how much damage DRM has done to PC gaming . My point . . . The decreasing share for PC in the overall game market "Percentage" is a result of Wii sales which is dumped in the "console" category . We all know Wii is largely a different animal than PC/Xbox360 or PS3 . Remove Wii sales and the PC share of the market gained in recent years, both in number raw units moved and total gaming industry percentage wise . Like so many statistics, you have to analyse them in detail before running around hysterically crying PC gaming is dying where its clearly not . |

If I travelled into the Amazon forest and sold a fleet of cars to some bush people who had never bought a car before, they would still be cars. Either way, No matter what ridicules claims are made about the Wii, whatever you elect to call it, It does not negate the changes that have happened to the gaming industry and the position of the PC in the scheme of things. |
