The PC loses due to Its expensive and very poor value for money Games are corrupted by anti-piracy measures and they are getting worse,to the point they corrupt your PC Most companies have abandoned the PC as a gaming platform resulting in few high quality games, and those that do get released tend to be in a narrow spectrum and infested with anti-piracy crap Cross platform games are always poor on the PC Gaming hardware is limited due to the decline in the PC gaming market PC games are now mostly only available in speciality gaming stores. The likes of EA are crippling the second hand market by not allowing game to run when the media has been transferred to a different owner, and this will only get worse and kill off the PC gaming scene completely. Steam have to respond to this aging post :P Consoles have Controllers which are utterly gay for any first person shooter or Real time Strategy game. For me this is a deal breaker as these are my two favorite genres. PC's are more expensive but also more advanced, PS3/Xbox360 are using outdated 2004 GPU's that can't get close to a high end PC graphics. Luckily most console ports still include higher resolutions and textures for PC. I agree PC's are getting more and more dumbed down console co-developed games (ie Supreme Commander 2), great for the kiddies but not so great for hard core gamers. Most companies have NOT abandoned the PC, the PC gaming market has been growing year on year for the most part, but much slower than Console. Its also difficult to measure due to online services like Steam. I have a xbox360 and a half decent PC, where ever possible I game on the PC. I am hoping the next generation of consoles are released sooner than later so PC gaming will stop being held back. |

Well I think you are blowing smoke, im not happy with my Xbox360, the graphics suck! Controller is great for car racing and thats about it :P What decline are you talking about?, I agree PC gaming has gone largely co-developed with Console or straight out Port, but there are more major titles released over the last year than say 5 years ago+. |

| 887594 | 2010-06-04 03:25:00 | Console controllers are crap for racing games, that also means that any racing game that can be played well with the console controller is also utter crap. What decline am I talking about? The one where the gaming market is dominated by consoles, where PC games are sold almost nowhere, and where PC games are ruined by being ports from the console and DRM. The ball really got rolling with the PS1, so your 5 year window is a little narrow. Sure there will always be a market for PC games as long as there are PC's, But its nothing like what it was before consoles became the dominant platform. |

PC games sales are higher than they were 5 years ago, they make up a smaller "percentage" of the entire gaming market as console and handheld has sold faster. Hell lets get real a minute, Wii has outsold Xbox360 and PS3 put together , is that a proud statistic for console lol? PC games sales has moved on digital downloads away from old fashion shop retail sales. I agree with DRM, but lets not exaggerate either, not every game has bad DRM and there has been fairly large back lashes against those companies going to far. |

Yes?...no.....maybe? how does proud come into it?, I suppose Nintendo are very proud of their sales figures, and rightly so. I guess you missed the goings on when the PS2 and Xbox were going hell bent for leather, with the mass closure of PC developers, gaming devs switching platforms just to survive and MS buying up everyone they could while shutting down their own PC game development and discontinuing all PC gaming devices. I would hope PC game sales have since risen,The number of PC's in homes has increased massively, Its just an indication of the decline that the market share of the PC in regards to gaming has not recovered. I agree with DRM, but lets not exaggerate either, not every game has bad DRM and there has been fairly large back lashes against those companies going to far. How many burgers with maggots in them would you put up with before you switched to fried chicken? I doubt anyone can exaggerate how much damage DRM has done to PC gaming. |

Or has the word changed it's meaning? Spoken in crappo language, which the taxpayer pays $Billions for our young to learn this could be written as thus..." Consoles have like, Controllers which are like, utterly gay for any like, first person shooter or like, Real time, absolutely init" Believe me, I am playing this down, having just driven a minivan full of teenage girls 60K - and yes, I left out all the F words that would have been used as well. :ban If the word has changed, our dear friend whose name is Gay will be right chuffed. No longer will she have to put up with the snide remarks she gets when she says "Hello, I'm Gay". Perhaps you could spell out this new meaning as I am sure she would wish to know! Ken /rant Sorry I am a bit OT |

| 887600 | 2010-06-04 05:49:00 | Bro has a Xbox 360. I don't think it matters either way but a PC you are hiding in your room all day and it is more expensive. You can get game rentals from the video store. Esp cheap Tuesdays etc. or the 2 for 1 coupon specials. Console can be more social fun too (incl for the adults). I mean hey, have some guests over and say come to my study or bedroom to play on the computer - lol. |
