1155713 2010-11-23 08:43:00 Yes ---- Thats why I ended up purchasing getdataback, it worked more often than a lot of others I tried.

The good thing about it, is as per their site, its free to try, and if it can see and recover the data then you know it will work. If it doesn't all you have lost is a bit of time.

1155714 2010-11-23 08:53:00 Installed GetDataBack NTFS and it finds the files so will purchase, copy the files I want and format the drive and re install. Cheers berryb (99)
1155715 2010-11-24 10:13:00 Your original drive is probably toast, no point in trying to reuse it. feersumendjinn (64)
1155716 2010-11-24 10:22:00 Yep I thought it would be but I copied the data I needed, formatted and ran check disk and found bad sectors so I'll copy the HP Recovery Partition to a new drive and go from there.

Cheers for the help. GetBackData is worth the $$.
