1157088 2010-11-28 03:48:00 We are going on holiday, is it okay to pull the plug from the wall power supply, or will the modem of switch be okay?

Thanks,

Lurking.

1157089 2010-11-28 03:52:00 If there's no one at home who needs net access than its ok to just turn off the modem. ronyville (10611)

1157091 2010-11-28 20:13:00 It's not a bad idea to unplug all things (except fridge and freezer!) from the mains when going away. Protects from power surges etc and certainly can't be harmful. linw (53)
1157092 2010-11-28 20:54:00 At least switch off at wall - adapters (transformers) still use power even if modem is switched off. SoniKalien (792)
1157093 2010-11-28 21:03:00 I never switch my modem off, but if you want to safe power it would be a good idea. Pato (2463)
1157094 2010-11-28 22:07:00 If you want to avoid the risk of it burning your house down while you're away then switch it off. Agent_24 (57)
1157095 2010-11-29 01:53:00 If you want to avoid the risk of it burning your house down while you're away then switch it off. That is a fair comment but wouldn't you have to switch off EVERYTHING electrical in your house, when you are away, say, even overnight, to avoid that happening.? Pato (2463)
1157096 2010-11-29 03:30:00 The only thing on overnight is my clock and the fridge and freezer, just testing to see what we can get our daily usage down to, so far it's down to 13 units both power and water gary67 (56)
