| 1156615 | 2010-11-25 23:36:00 | When I turn off the computer (Windows XP SP3) it tries to install 2 updates and then closes down ok. It does this each time over the last week I've closed down. How can I find which two updates it is trying to install? Whenever I get the choice to install updates I uncheck the Microsoft Network files as they never install, but I get no notification re the two rogue updates. Anyone help? | Krad (7878) | ||

Go to C: \ Windows - locate and delete the SoftwareDistribution Folder. You have to do this in safe mode, normal mode wont let you delete it. Restart the Computer normally, then manually run windows updates. The folder will recreate its self. The only downside of doing the above is any previous updates you have installed wont be able to be uninstalled (you shouldn't have to any way) |
