1105245 2010-05-31 00:11:00 Hi, my sister has given me her Blackberry cell phone as she doesnt use it (too complicated??)
It is a telecom model and i use Vodafone so i rang vodafone about using it and the rep mentioned unlocking it online (~$30 fee)

Has anyone here successfully done this and got a telecom only Blackberry working on the vodafone network??

I have been in to telecom but the phone must go on a plan due to its data functionality, but seeing i am not a telecom customer it was going to cost me $30/month :horrified

TIA

1105246 2010-05-31 10:57:00 It won't work properley on Vodafone with out a plan either, it will only be good for text and phone calls. Which really defeats the whole point of a blackberry.

Plus the 8330 is a CDMA device, does it do GSM?

Yeah, thats what telecom told me, but i only use a mobile phone for txting anyway, and since it was given to me i may as well use it. My other phone is faulty.
Apparently they will go on GSM if unlocked, i am going to ring telecom today and "try" to get the unlock code. (good luck with that i know)
Thanks
