Unfortunately not Jen, I wish I had but they know I already bring in more to the firm due to my trouble finding skills. Still doesn't make it easy though working under someone with out the skills to do the job they should be doing. The arguments this thread have caused has actually brightened me up especially Prefects absolutely unfounded crazy ideas about the British, I guess he has been watching too many old sitcoms and should try going there and seeing what it's really like. But that won't happen as he is so Anti |

| 888954 | 2010-05-30 12:13:00 | . If you are going to apply have a look at their web site (www.manningoffshoresolutions.com).To me it looks like you might have to pay some money up front with no guarantee of a job. I hope I'm wrong. Funny you say that, First thing I did after seeing the advert was look at their site, 3 seconds later I noted they ran "day seminars" and I thought to myself, I bet these bastards are accepting everyone that applies, charging for the intoduction day and thats all you get.Scammed. However I decided to submit the application and just roll with whatever comes along, They won't be getting any money from me. |

| 888960 | 2010-06-07 08:33:00 | Meh, I figured there would be a catch, but the size of it is a surprise. Thank you for your recent application for Oil Rig Jobs. We regret to inform you that your application this time was unsuccessful. From the large response some of the applicants had already completed the BOSIET offshore training course and medical. Our client selected the successful applicants from this group of people. To work in the offshore oil and gas industry there is a minimum safety training course and medical requirement. For those of you that havent done this training we recommend you consider completing the following to improve your application chances next time. Ah ha, so not only was the job advert poorly constructed and full of spelling mistakes, it left out the most crucial information. Luckily the training (which is an absolute requirement) is only $2000, plus $100 for a medical, But hey, if you're not sure you want to spend that coin just to be eligible to apply, they happen to offer the one day seminar as noted earlier, for a mere $800. So, near $3000 for an unemployed person to remain unemployed but able to apply for jobs that very rarely come up and are very much sought after. |
