John: My birthday coincides with the University exam period every year, hence the apparent cynicism that I expressed earlier on. :D Question: If a close friend asks me what I want for a present, do I say what I really want, or should I be courteous and say "it's up to you *grin*"? |

No. I'll own up and say I made a booboo 'cause that's the truth. Makes note to compose all further posts in Word where I can spell check before posting but I probably won't. |

Question: If a close friend asks me what I want for a present, do I say what I really want, or should I be courteous and say "it's up to you *grin*"?I would give a couple of suggestions if they have asked. Better than getting a pink plastic flamingo! |

In answer to your question I'd take the second option and then lie back and enjoy. She might give you a choccy fish. |

| 889499 | 2010-05-31 15:00:00 | I can't believe how that birthday snuck in when I wasn't looking... But neither can I believe that schoolboy who used to ask to have his English corrected is now 22 years old. And - what's more - little old ladies (like me) trust him to hand over the correct pills they need to stay upright... I hope you didn't study ALL day, James? And that you chose well in your birthday present dilemma? (In which case, the answer may well be none of our business...) |
