I however didn't have many failures, made money on most contracts and no one got killed, even though a few done their best to get that way. |

As a Manager if I see the former colleagues of a new manager playing silly games, they're the ones who'd cop it. If you don't like where you are now - find somewhere you do like. Otherwise help all people as much as you can and your time will surely come. And who here has been talking about playing silly games except for you. Gary is considering moving because of it and if it is that bad for him it possibly is for others so the firm could loose some valuable employees. I have a friend who left his job after trying to get one more worker for years and when he left the other guy did and now they are employing 4 to do what the two of them did. I know of one firm after a takeover and new management turned over 3 quarters of the staff in the first year. That is extremely inefficient as all those new staff have to be trained. |

The biggest whiners and I know this is going to surprise you but they were Englanders. For the xtra few dollars the company paid me to supervise a bunch of clowns just wasnt worth it. It really got up their nose that I was promoted over top of them the reason I got promoted: I respected the boss and called him Mr .... even though he said call me ... I am a qualified Diesel Mechanic with a ticket. I worked hard I didnt turn up to work maggoted from the piss I didnt pull sickies I was always nice to the customers even if i really to punch them out I HATE HATE HATE HATE unions and made it clear I did I didnt whinge if we had to do unplanned overtime I didnt bad mouth Australia I didnt do an ipi tombi jump around if on rare occasion NZ won at cricket or rugby. I mentored the young guys who needed help If something tool or device didnt work I actually sent it out for repair not put it back in the shelf. I actually had a shower daily I was nice to the girls in the office And these ignorant clowns wondered why I go the mangers job over them Good luck on the job front Metla. |
