1156597 2010-11-26 03:43:00 :clap +1 for Orcon. I used to be with Xnet a few years ago when their speeds were really good, but something changed (new plans?) and speeds started to continually suffer.

Changed to Orcon and have been really happy with them for about two years now. (on ADSL2+, usually get around 17ms ping with 18~20megabits):banana

Xnet ++=great plans only pay for what you get voip phone not expensive
--=terrible support ,robotic, without ears for the most part, scared shi#less of anything to do with line quality, poor speed and getting worse over time.
Orcon ++=Reasonable human beings on support, good speed, a "real" phone
--=costs more, web site is a real maze.
I am semi rural and don't get great speed so can't pot xnet for unusable voip, but Orcon has a noticeably quicker net speed and has recently upgraded us even a bit faster with a higher data allowance.

1156601 2010-11-26 07:52:00 Similar experience! Must have tried billing me at previous email addy. Emailed me at Orcon addy threatening disconnection unless paid immediately. Phone bills are clumped together somehow? Makes no sense to me. PPp (9511)
1156602 2010-11-26 08:01:00 Netsukeninja is right i had MAJOR connection issues, HUMUNGUS it tooke over a month for them to sort it out, and get this, i told them to can it 3 TIMEs, that i was switching to another provider, and lord behold, i get home and the techie has alredy set it up. Legend. horrible, Horrible, HORRIBLE support. Unless youre not a very experienced user. If you call, and a foreigner answrs HANG UP!!!Immediately, and try and get one of their normal speaking new zealanders who can, and actualy do, avery god job. SOME OF THE Highest DOwnload speeds. The local download rates here in hawera a waaayy off the mark but, the download speeds with these people are the best ive had. And there bills are out of wack. dont make a lick of sense. and not very lenient if you fall behind, whiich if you do CALL IMMEDIATELY, and they should give you an extension.
They are good, they are pricey. They are there for your money. Get what you pay for.

XNET very robotic, averagy at best download speeds. Torrent is good, calling plans are not bad, very lenioent with bill playing. Pay for what you use is also good.
