888833 2010-05-30 04:39:00 Gary is talking about the ability to preview open Windows (and select) by hovering over the icons on the Task Bar - that I DO find useful!

I can see how that could be confusing - both functions are Aero Peek (peek at a window - useful, or peek at the desktop - useless) & most people wouldn't think of the 2 functions as the same thing.

I don't think the seniornet down here will teach all the little extras in win7 - the students have enough trouble with the basics.

888834 2010-05-30 05:36:00 I don't think the seniornet down here will teach all the little extras in win7 - the students have enough trouble with the basics.I suspect we won't actually teach to that level of detail up here either - I am giving a presentation to the tutors as a once-over-lightly of what the differences are between Vista and Win7. We have made some modifications to our "Computer Basics" course to account for Windows 7, but only in the area of the start menu and the appearance of Wordpad, which we use to introduce very basic word processing. At some point we will create an "Understanding Windows 7" course that will be our intro to Vista course with Windows 7 tweaks - but probably not to the level we have been discussing here.
