1156514 2010-11-25 22:08:00 And are we talking the PCB on the drive itself, or the PCB for the SATA-to-USB controller? inphinity (7274)
1156515 2010-11-25 22:13:00 the pcb on the external itself. it stopped working nearly 2 years ago...and its been sitting in its box since..just thought that its about time i sorted it out. its got thousands of data on it, mostly genealogy stuff that i need for my family tree and photos of my late grandparents. carnation (16096)

Don't bother trying to get a new PCB for the external enclosure.

Just get a new enclosure and put the drive in it. Or just take the drive out of the enclosure and attach it internally to a computer.

1156519 2010-11-25 22:55:00 just answering the other question, no you're not a typical female, or even a typical any sort of computer user. You came to press f1 rather than asking some cheapass computer shop to fix a problem that you can easily fix yourself.
So give yourself a pat on the back or have a beer or something, knowing you are more intelligent/have more common sense than more than half of the rest of the world.
