1158089 2010-12-02 03:59:00 I need help choosing myself a new sound system for my PC, I was thinking about getting the Logitech z-2300's because they're cheap and look good.
But how heavy is the bass? Will it be powerful enough to shake something off my desk? And is it possible to set up multiple subs/speakers to one PC? What will I need to do so?

Thanks in advance :)

1158090 2010-12-02 04:06:00 Probably not. You could blow your soundcard if you connect too much to it / or turn it up too loud Speedy Gonzales (78)

Wow, really? I saw a vid of a guy with 4 z-2300's playing them SUPER loud.

1158092 2010-12-02 04:16:00 must have used something else besides the soundcard and speakers then Speedy Gonzales (78)

Oh, alright, have you had any experience with these subs/speakers before? I'd like to know how bassy they are and their sound quality.

1158094 2010-12-02 04:30:00 Should be loud enough on its own. Since it meant to be distortion free bass. Dont think youre in NZ because by the looks of it these are round $200. Thats not cheap. I dont have / use speakers on this, unless I connect the monitor output to the stereo Speedy Gonzales (78)
1158095 2010-12-02 04:31:00 if the speakers are amplified they wont damage anything, if anything if the soundcard is turned up too high it will blow the input stages or damage the amplifier in the speakers or merely clip the input signal williamF (115)

Hate to break it to you Speedy, but you're presenting incorrect guesses as fact again :groan:.

1158097 2010-12-02 04:39:00 Yer whatever. There's some cheap ones here (www.trademe.co.nz) I actually blew my soundcard once Speedy Gonzales (78)
1158098 2010-12-02 04:42:00 it sometimes helps to have a slight electronics background with some computer peripherals :D, unamplified cheapy speakers can blow soundcard amp chips if they fail short circuit williamF (115)
