1107071 2010-06-05 09:40:00 I have a Packard Bell PC model imedia 5094 XP which is about 8yrs old but going well. I had a 17" LCD monitor, but always wanted a bigger wide screen one, but was apprehensive on how it would work on my old PC.

I went into PC world and they had this AOC 21.5" 2236Swa monitor and they assured me that it would be OK.

Setting it all up it works marvelously, but reduced the screen resolutions down to 1400x900 to make the text larger to read.

No problem with all my installed programs and flight simulators on the large screen are awesome.

The only thing I have to learn is the on screen icons that alter the settings if I need to, which are touch buttons on the side of the surround.

Summing it all up I am very pleased with this purchase and with the 3yr manufacturers warrantee.

1107072 2010-06-05 09:55:00 You may be better off setting the resolution to its "native" value of 1920x1080, and then adjusting font and icon sizes etc to suit from within windows. You would get a slightly sharper image. Terry Porritt (14)

Yes, reducing the resolution makes it look like ****.

1107074 2010-06-05 23:19:00 I can tell you that the build quality of AOC is much better than CHIMEI at least... Agent_24 (57)

Any increase in monitor size is usually satisfactory, until you get used to it and then see a larger screen somewhere else and start coveting an 'upgrade'.... :)

Since this post I have found that screen resolutions of 1600x900 is about the best for Me. Excellent picture and size of text.

I am surprised at some of the other posts --so juvenile and negative

I'm pleased that your issues are now sorted and also that some took the trouble to try and help you.

Further to my previous posts where I reduced the resolution down from 1920x1080 to 1600x900 so that the text was larger.

I have now increased DPI setting from 96dpi to 120dpi which increased the size of text so have been able to set the resolutions back to 1920x1080.

But the XP Spider Solitare is still small.

Yes. There is a limit to what you can adjust in XP. Win 7 allows you to custom sizes much better and eliminates this sort of problem. You're stuck with it in XP.
