1107053 2010-06-05 07:47:00 Had a boy racer in a highly modified car misjudge his braking and lock up behind me, as luck would have it, his number plate just tapped our rear nudge bar so the only damage was a slight buckle in his front number plate.

Him and his mates thought it was a hell of a joke but he started getting a bit agro when I took down his plate number at which time I saw that even though his rego sticker was about 14 months out of date, his WOF appeared to be current.

About 40 minutes later, came across the same boy racer, he has rear ended up the rear of a late model BMW.

What a mess. The front of his car has basically just exploded into bits and the back of the BMW is a mess as well.

Maybe he tried to laugh that off as I assume it was the BMW driver has got him in a arm lock up against the fence and in the distance is the flashing blue and reds of a plod car which pulled up.

Be just the luck of the BMW owner that this kid has no insurance and they will have to chase him through the courts or what ever to get anything out of him.

Be even more interesting if indeed he was driving without a valid Rego while having a *valid* WOF.

Karma strikes again..............:clap

Better than 105 on the Onetangi Strait etc :(

For those who don't know, it's the only stretch of road on Waiheke Island with a speed limit of 80kph - the rest of the island is 50kph. It's only about 1.6kms long and the carriageway is about 5m wide, potholes, and open ditches either side ...

More likely that the cops would have arrested the BMW guy for assault (and stopping too quickly). :groan:

1107057 2010-06-06 01:45:00 The Beemer driver will be OK if he is insured - but I imagine his insurance company will be out of pocket, and this (multiplied by the number of uninsured/insurable drivers on the road who have accidents) has a knock-on effect on the price of the premiums the rest of us pay... :( johcar (6283)

Most insurance contracts state somewhere that the vehicle has to be legal and roadworthy to be covered under the policy. I'd say the BMW owner's insurance company will be out of pocket for this one. 1107059 2010-06-06 02:26:00 Hmmm.

"(Typical) Boyracer" + "Insurance" = oxymoron....?

1107060 2010-06-06 02:27:00 BMW drivers have this horrible habit of reversing into following traffic.

They are possibly mentally challenged?

I suspect they may be related to Volvo owners.... Or maybe 'wannabe' Volvo owners....
