| 1106142 | 2010-06-02 10:05:00 | whats your opinion? i really can't stand music from the last 10 years. i prefer 50's and 60's music with a dash of 80's and early 90's music. right now im listening to 'mecca' by gene pitney from 1963. it beats lady gaga, kanye west, justin beibers asss |

| 1106143 | 2010-06-02 10:21:00 | I never really got much passed 1935/40, though it was the jazz revival of the late 1940s that formed my popular music tastes :) Johnny Ray around 1950 was the instigator of the screaming pop fans. I blame him for all the subsequent degradation of pop music Perhaps you would also like a time trip back to the 20s & 30s, via Radio Dismuke streaming around the world 24 hours a day....plug...http://216.66.69.4:9078/ |

| 1106145 | 2010-06-02 10:52:00 | I didn't go much for the music of the 1950s, but Les Paul and Mary Ford were superb, and very popular. He died only a short while ago in his nineties, and up to the very end he was playing at the Iridium Club in New York. If you go here:www.jazz-on-line.com and put Les Paul in the box, you will get a whole pageful of his songs to listen to or to download. |

Music after that era in anyone's life, tends to be 'crap' - however some is 'crapper' than others... :) Judging by your username and declared music tastes, I gather you would fall into the age group of somewhere between 40 and 55... (goodiesguy, that is) |

Music from 1815 to 1910 - Romantic period - which included Beethoven, Schubert, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, etc. was and still is great stuff. On Sat night I went to a concert performance of Verdi's Aida in the ChCh Town Hall. The auditorium was full. The Grand March was performed by a full symphony orchestra, a brass band, and a choir of more than 200. No amplification was necessary, believe me. The thing about this music is that it will still be in vogue in 200 years time when all the modern crap is well and truly forgotten. |

| 1106149 | 2010-06-02 11:53:00 | some of the new stuff today is ok but a lot of it is rubbish. i listen to RHCP/ataxia/foo fighters/oasis/john frusciante, its what i've grown up on. Led Zeppelin i became a fan of simply because of stairway to heaven but grew to like their other stuff , much like The Who :2cents::2cents: |

(goodiesguy, that is) I'm 20. I know, not think, Lady Gaga, Kanye West (aside from one or two of his songs), Fiddy Cent, Jason Derulo, Bieber, and all that suck big time. These days I listen to a lot of David Gray, Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol, some NZ alt rock, mainly Pluto, Stereophonics among other stuff.... |

| 1106151 | 2010-06-02 11:57:00 | Personally, I hate most 'pop' today. It's all autotune and songwriters. I'm partial to real rock, metal, with a dash of dance/electronica, and I'll listen to pop if it's on a ministry of sound CD. |
