1106193 2010-06-03 00:31:00 Shall I be one of the odd ones out and say I adore anything modern?

Yes I shall.

1106195 2010-06-03 00:51:00 I will probably get shot down but.........give me Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry, and the like. I have one of those DSE USB MP3 players full of the stuff, I can drive for hours in the Australian Outback with the volume turned up, makes the miles go quicker than listening to the RT. 1106197 2010-06-03 01:34:00 Music of any era probably sounds worse than the stuff that came before it. (Bagpipes excepted, that is as much like a cat in a concrete mixer as it ever was.)

To give the modern performers their due, they have managed quite well, and really raised the bar for future note manglers.

1106200 2010-06-03 02:52:00 The other day my son posted a message on his Facebook page saying "Dio, RIP". I still don't know who this guy is that croaked, and neither do I want to know - all I can guess is that he was some sort of rockish legend.

1106201 2010-06-03 02:59:00 I hate all pop music, regardless of genre (although its basically all in the same genre anyway)

Rock, Metal, Punk etc have taken a backstep, the Rock radio station wont even play it anymore. But in alot of ways I think that's better. means rock artists ahve freedom to play what they want rather than what sells.

Plenty of good rock bands around today though, even if your not a fan of the genre usually theres probaly something out there for you. Personally its anything from Breaking Benjamin, Drowning Pool, SOAD, Tool, APC etc to Machine Head, VWOA, COF, Megadeth, The Kovernant......

Slowly gettin more into industrial metal, Rammstein is a long time favourite.

And a good night on the piss usually involves crankin up some bonnie tyler, van morrison and split enz.
