1157829 2010-12-01 21:57:00 Well I have been checking some other sources and I'm still stuck. The fact that two different PCs with different O/S exhibit the same fault with autorun tends to indicate a problem with the drive or cable more than anything else. Snorkbox (15764)

1157831 2010-12-01 23:07:00 Try this (www.sevenforums.com) and/or this (windows.microsoft.com) Speedy Gonzales (78)
1157832 2010-12-01 23:07:00 One thing you can try.

Open a CMD window and type sfc /scannow

Run as admin on both commands.

1157836 2010-12-02 00:00:00 Well you probably need to run a repair install on the desktop then to repair the corrupt files. As the Win 7 scan did not turn up any errors I still can't say doing all this will fix the autoplay issues however. Snorkbox (15764)
1157837 2010-12-02 00:07:00 the desktop only has a recovery partition so no disc.

i think i got the ISO for the vista recovery disc somewhere i d/l a while ago
