| 1106716 | 2010-06-15 22:45:00 | I didn't watch the game, I watched the page displaying the score "live" on the herald site. After 45 minutes a zero changed into a 1, after another 45 minutes the other zero changed into a 1. Pretty exciting stuff. |

| 1106719 | 2010-06-15 23:02:00 | I was a bit excited watching that header from seemingly "nowhere" since the Slovakians dominated the last 30 or so minutes with speed and skill/tactics. Not really a soccer fan but most of my student peers were soccer players (in Pakuranga/Howick years back). Been a long time since I watched NZ soccer, including the live Fiji game in 81/82 (with the streaker) where NZ scored multiple goals. Though good to see Ricki Herbet's beaming face after that header... |

Is that still there or did they build houses on it? |

| 1106721 | 2010-06-15 23:19:00 | Oh really The top five sports played in clubs by boys aged 5 to 17 are: 17% Soccer 16% Rugby union 14% Swimming 8% Cricket 8% Hockey I know a lot of youngsters start off playing soccer rather than rugby . Some will switch to rugby later, as they grow . My son was one of them, even though his Dad was a rep in provincial junior rugby . Some of those boys, the same age as my son, were far taller and twice as wide, even at seven . It was important that he got enjoyment out of sport . I don't often watch a lot of rugby on tv, but I do like to watch first class soccer . Go the All Whites!!:banana |
