1106186 2010-06-02 23:19:00 i'm only 14. wow you say. yeah everyone else my age listens to top 40 stuff. i hate it. i prefer 50's and 60's music and have so since about 2003 when i was 7. i got into this music listening to solid gold when i went on drives with my dad. that was the station the radio was tuned to. i love the sound of it. it was, different, spacious, like it had a lot of room. its hard to explain but the sound of 50's and 60's music was amazing when i first heard it.

the first band from that era i got into was The Beach Boys which i had abit prior knowledge. the first song i remember hearing was Good Vibrations. as i said it just had an amazing sound. ever since then i started to hate new music. i like new music until about 2007 when it got really ****. i havent listened to new music since. i just can't stand it (except for the funny american idol auditions eg.. pants on the ground).

my favorite band is Pink Floyd (syd barrett era 1965 to 1968

Kindred spirit, Pink Floyd. What have you got by him? PJ

I had a 1971 Bee Gees album - music was so much different than their disco/pop music later. Also I'm sure they wrote many popular songs (and not really recognized) for others...

1106189 2010-06-03 00:17:00 yes, the early bee gees were like any other group from the late 60's. they didn't have high voices and their was like 5 of them.

my favorite pink floyd album is piper at the gates of dawn and im currently saving up to buy the vinyl. my picture to the left is the cover of the album but it dosent have Pink Floyd Logo on it

1106190 2010-06-03 00:17:00 For me I like the classics and Jazz as well
I do like 80's music which of course I grew up on.
I am a big fan of Peter Gabriel and his 'New Blood' stuff is amazing.
A lot of this new pop sound is just over produced.
Don't normally listen to Alicia Keys because she just sound like any other over produced artists. But the other night she was on 'Later with Jools Holland'
Just her and the Piano and she was totally different and she was great.
