Nope. It looks OK to me. It's what is in an Autorun.inf file that matters and there does not have to be one of those for the Autoplay function to run if enabled.

When you right click on the drive the context menu should display Open Autoplay as an option. The fact that it does not worries me a little.

Click Start. type in CMD, right click it from the results,Run as administrator, type in

net start shellhwdetection and then press ENTER.

Reboot the Computer, see if it now works or not.


What version of W7 and Vista do you have , Home, Pro, Ultimate ?

Edited: haven't got Nero installed have you ? its known to stop the autoplay ? Nero temporarily disables the autostart functions to keep other autostart processes from interfering with the burning process - open it then close it.
