1106647 2010-06-05 07:59:00 Are you hoping to run both sky and freeview satellite at the same time, off the same dish?
No - the aim is to get rid of Sky to save money.

Gah? Wha?

Umm, I don't think so. IIRC Freeview satellite bit rates are about 25% higher than Sky's. Unless you're comparing HD sky with freeview satellite... Although the fact that MySky's have HDMI outputs does help, even without the HD access ticket.

But IMO, sky (non hd) vs freeview satellite, and freeview wins hands down

1106650 2010-06-06 19:33:00 I assume the Strong SRT 3650 would work but it is a very basic unit with only composite and RF out. I recommend something better quality like the Globo unit.

What model television do they want this for?

You should also tell them there are a couple of radio stations and Australian TV stations (SBS1 and 2) on the satellite they can tune into.

1106651 2010-06-07 09:19:00 We were away for the weekend and the unit on TradeMe has gone. Will have to go looking again. We are using a lesser model Strong ourselves with no issues. johnd (85)
