Kind of like writing off one of the most respected guitarists on the planet, Johhny Marr is a legend for his work with The Smiths alone and is widely recognised as one of the best around. Funnily enough I was listening yesterday to The Who Live At Leeds only yesterday. There is nothing wrong at all with the music of that era, but equally time moves on and to suggest that modern bands are somehow inferior is ridiculous. Suggests people who are stuck in the past and can't take on board new styles and sounds. |

Besides revealing that Pete Townsend can hardly hear anymore for the ringing in his ears, he also talks about the current music scene. Pete rates the Arctic Monkeys and particularly Matt Helders as a drummer (quite rightly). He also rates The Horrors as a new band (who collected best album of the year in NME). Guy has better taste than Metla it seems. |

Again,when crap like that is held up as the best of British you can only wonder what the hell happened to make it all so small, weak and miserable. I suppose its reflective of the audience. |
