| 1157751 | 2010-12-01 05:10:00 | Just got 10 new win 7 32bit Pro desktops to deploy, currently have XP Pro SP3 running on all the workstations . Domain and the new printer server both have 2008 x64 OS . Network drives and network printers are mapped through group policies . Current printer server is Win 2003 x32 . Have installed the printer on the new printer server, shared and added to the group policy for mapping onto the workstation . Have not install the 32bit drivers yet on the servers, only the 64bit drivers . Now when I log into my XP Pro 32bit machine, I see the new printer on the new server mapped and I am able to print fine . When I log into the W7 32 bit machines, its doesnt map any of the printers, not the new printer on the new server and also doesnt even map the old printers from the old server . All the network drives map fine . So I installed the 32bit drivers on the new server and still it doesnt map the printers . So turned off the UAC and the firewall on the W7 workstation but still no joy! If I install the drivers manually on the workstation than only it maps the network printers . Any one face a similar issue and managed to fine a solution? |

| 1157755 | 2010-12-02 02:06:00 | Sorted.. well sort of. I have disabled the "point n print restrictions" under computer configuration on the PC, and now it is mapping all the printers, from the new server and the old. Only problem is I will have to disable this option manually on all workstations so will need to find a GP option for this. Tried disabling this option in GP on the domain under "user configuration" but doesnt seem to work. Will have to do some further googling.... | ronyville (10611) | ||
