1159140 2010-12-05 19:43:00 Is there a good freeware registry cleaner that works good? QW. (15883)
1159141 2010-12-05 19:49:00 Any reason why you want to clean it? IMO best cleaning is a format / reinstall ;)

CCleaner has some functions built into it, but to be honest I've only used it like 2-3 times ever...

1159142 2010-12-05 20:37:00 I use CCleaner and it seems to work OK ... just make sure you keep the backup when prompted. SP8's (9836)
1159143 2010-12-05 23:00:00 I often run Ccleaner after un installing programs for other people and put backup reg file in their documents folder. I then tell them if after a week the computer is still running fine they can delete it gary67 (56)
1159144 2010-12-06 03:19:00 I have trialed a few, and even running one or two shortly after supposedly cleaning, they still find fragments or orphans or whatever. kahawai chaser (3545)
1159145 2010-12-06 06:30:00 No particular reason. Although I am wondering if it is the registry that is stopping me from reinstalling one of my games QW. (15883)
1159146 2010-12-06 06:34:00 Is Spybot installed / teatimer running?? If it is kill it. What does it say when you try and install the game? Does it say the game works in your version of windows? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1159147 2010-12-06 06:40:00 No, Spybot is not installed. Basically when I try and reinstall FSX it says it is installing then all of the images that show during the install flash past then the screen goes blank for a small box with bars running across saying it is installing files. It then goes and asks for disk 2 and continues for 5 mins then asks for another disk. There is only 2 for FSX.

Running Windows XP SP3.
