2010-12-05 04:43:00 | Hi, Im currently running win 7 home premium 64bit . Up until just yesterday I was able to add hard drives and the would show up as expected . Today I plugged in my external hard drive to run a back up and it wouldnt show up under my computer . It will show up under device manager and disk management but not my computer . Other internal HD's behave the same way . Ive tried doing a system restore but the problem persists and Im scratching my head . Any ideas??? Thanks

2010-12-05 05:18:00 | Do they have formatted partitions under Disk Management? If they do try and assign them a drive letter. | gcarmich (10068) | |

2010-12-05 09:15:00 | Obviously the drives need to be formatted, but once done, Windows "Should" have automatically assigned the drives the next letter in the Alphabet. | wainuitech (129) | |
2010-12-05 22:01:00 | yes all drives were formatted and working fine until the other day. Now no external (or new internal) drives get a drive letter... :annoyed: | 12steps (14778) | |
2010-12-05 22:22:00 | The maximum number of drives you can have is 26. You don't have more than that do you? | Snorkbox (15764) | |
