| 1158709 | 2010-12-04 12:28:00 | hi yet another issue with windows 7 so far this time involving a USB to serial converter so i can ditch the ancient toshiba 420CDT for my picaxe programming and other serial stuff anyway the adapter installs fine, ok, hunky dory but either as soon as i open the PICAXE programming tool or initialize the port with it (havnt tried hyper term yet though), it instantly crashes with a blue screen stop error, as far as i am aware it is either rev-ed's software being a bit buggy, the drivers which both are actually up to date BTW or windows 7 being a right douche, the brief time i tried the adapter on my previous (vista 32 bit) laptop shows it worked fine with no problems and the latest drivers saying that they work in win 7 64 bit i'll try the adapter in hyper terminal etc and if it blue screens i will be back otherwise i will have a chat on the picaxe forum |
