1158626 2010-12-04 01:23:00 I'm trying to find a font which has long dissapeared from our computers. I've been Googling till I'm gogle-eyed but can't ID it. Are there any typographical wizards out there among us who knows this font:

I have to put it on a grave stone before Xmas so I'm fast running out of time..thanks heaps

1158627 2010-12-04 01:55:00 Best way would be to go to DaFont (http://www.dafont.com/) or something and browse till you find something close. SoniKalien (792)

Thanks Soni but I've been browsing through that site and others for hours but still haven't come up with it. I just thought there may be someone here who would recognise it. Meanwhile I'll keep looking...........

1158629 2010-12-04 08:24:00 Ran it through WhatTheFont (new.myfonts.com) and the best it came up with was this: new.myfonts.com ubergeek85 (131)
1158630 2010-12-04 08:28:00 Try a Google image search for the "periodic table of fonts". The tables show the inventor for each font. These are known as info-graphics, so try this page (api.ning.com etQD-K395jV92lT7IsrPI-l1CPkg8Ouywy*WQnOhaoJAbX/Periodic_Table_of_Typefaces_large.jpg) - zoom the image to see if can find the font you need. There are other tables around. Might give the font name/style. kahawai chaser (3545)

Yes I did try there too ubergeek but the result was too far off. It's quite a nice typeface so when I do finally get a result I will probably use it quite often. Thanks for your effort though - cheers.

Doesn't seem to produce a result there either kahawai chaser. It seems to be a cross between a serif and a graphical font of sorts. It would probably help if I knew if it was truetype, postscript or Open type etc, but unfortunatly I don't have a clue. Thanks for giving it a go though, you guys here are really helpfull - much appreciated!

1158633 2010-12-04 09:27:00 Nearest I could find was relatives of 'Chancery' and 'Calligraphy' but it has a few more embellishments - extra big curl on 'A' and below the baseline curls on 'h' and 'n'. You may be able to create your own if you can find a copy of Font Lab. coldot (6847)

Ta for that. I do have a copy of Font lab Studio 5 so I may purchase the Scubby font that ubergeek found & trace & modify that. Gonna have to wait till tomorrow.......my eyeballs are on my knees tonight!!!
