1108008 2010-06-08 11:10:00 True, not to mention the same thing will happen with Phone hardware flattening out as with desktop hardware. There will be requirements for 90% of the device use, then there's gonna be the additional 10% which extreme users will want (Such as gaming enthusiasts).

Absolutely - and really, the whole "I just want a phone to text and call people" argument is fallacious at best; Smartphones of the calibre of the iPhone/Nexus One/HTC Desire are effectively small laptops with 2 days of battery life, and will soon match, if not overtake most netbooks in terms of CPU capability.

In short, Smartphones aren't really phones at all.

1108009 2010-06-08 11:27:00 I think I like the Nokia N8 better. I don't think multitasking is a revolution or evolution. It's just something that can be done by most smartphones these days.

The iphone 4g just makes it fit more into the smartphone market.

It sure is popular and good looking. Even thou NZ is not geared up for 3G broadband - being affordable. I am guessing it might not the best bang for buck for best features but still ..

I am a long time Nokia fan and currently a E75 user (business phone) - slide out keyboard and auto download email without asking you - even supports printing to a printer, barcoding, accessing a shared network drive. Good in theory but screen can be too small unless you highly prize the keyboard and use it for previewing Office documents only.

1108012 2010-06-09 01:04:00 I'm looking for a new phone, have been a Blackberry Pearl user for 3 yrs, the phone is connected to our exchange server and I like the security features the BB have over the iPhones. I have been waiting for the Storm 2 which I guess is similar to the iphone, however I really do like the gadgets you can get for your iphone. I dont like the battery life though...I'm struggling to make up my mind. SolMiester (139)

I feel your pain, I'm torn between the iPhone 4 or the Nexus One :-/

Just like I won't give my dollar to Sony.

Same for me, I don't like being told I can't use something because the company thinks they know what I want better than I do, where is the freedom. I use Windows because I can choose what to install or not to install, I use a cheap Nokia phone due to smartphones not being tough enough to put up with my working environment. However I still covet the N1
